As we look towards reuse and recycling as a critical solution to non-renewable resources, TXI’s patented Rebase® product was developed. Rebase maximizes the use of recycled materials to significantly reduce the use of virgin materials in repairing roads or parking lots.
Roads need to be repaired and that typically involves removing old asphalt or concrete materials that have failed and become unusable. Historically this waste material has been land-filled while virgin material was placed on the repaired road. Rebase combines recycled asphalt or concrete materials with cement and other materials to offer a superior-performing base that improves the pavement structure and increases the life-cycle performance. Not only does this process enhance the quality of the pavement structure, it also reduces landfill needs and focuses on resource recovery and resource efficiency.
Another unique product developed by TXI’s Cement Treated Materials group is SuperSlurry™, a patented system that provides the stabilization and strength benefits of cement in a dust-free environment. SuperSlurry offers the most environmentally friendly way of recycling existing roads or stabilizing soils for new ones. The superior building qualities of cement, such as strength and durability are well known. TXI’s SuperSlurry incorporates the benefits of cement while eliminating dust and improving cement efficiency.

The key difference is that ProSet concrete mixes out-perform standard prescription ratios that have been outdated, or in some cases, over designed for a particular concrete application.
By making performance the key measure in the mix design process, TXI is able optimize the utilization of natural raw materials such as limestone, sand and water, and maximize the implementation of recycled materials like flyash.
